GOP Presidential Candidate Says 'We've Become A Party Of Losers,' Calls For RNC Chief's Resignation

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has declared the GOP as a “party of losers.”

What Happened: Ramaswamy made these comments at the third Republican presidential debate in Miami. He identified a “cancer” in the GOP establishment, attributing it partially to Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Ronna McDaniel, reported The Hill.

“We’ve become a party of losers at the end of the day,” Ramaswamy remarked, pointing to the GOP’s disappointing election performances since McDaniel took the helm of the RNC in 2017. This includes losses in the 2018 and 2022 midterms, the 2020 presidential election, and a significant defeat in the 2023 elections.

In one of the latest high-profile races, Democratic Governor Andy Beshear won reelection in the traditionally Republican state of Kentucky. Furthermore, Democrats seized control of both houses of the Virginia Legislature, and a pro-abortion rights measure comfortably passed in Ohio.

Calling for accountability within the GOP, Ramaswamy challenged McDaniel to publicly resign.

“Ronna, if you want to come on stage tonight and look the GOP voters in the eye and tell them you resign, I will turn over, yield my time to you,” he said.
