EV Truck Maker Nikola's CFO Anastasiya Pasterick Steps Down In Pursuit Of 'Other Opportunities'

EV maker Nikola Corp NKLA said on Friday that its Chief Financial Officer Anastasiya Pasterick is resigning from her position, less than a year since she took up the position.

What Happened: Pasterick has submitted her resignation to “pursue other opportunities” and will continue in her position only till Dec. 1, the company said in a filing.

Nikola will be searching for a new CFO and expects to finalize the appointment soon. In the interim, Nikola’s financial leadership will be directly overseen by the company’s President and CEO, Stephen J. Girsky.

Why It Matters: Anastasiya took the position of company CFO earlier this year in April upon resignation of Kim J Brady. Until then, she was serving as Nikola’s Vice President, Corporate Controller. During her appointment, the company had noted that Pasterick was vital in executing the organization’s SPAC merger in 2020.

In the third quarter, Nikola's gross loss bloated to $125.5 million from $30.2 million a year earlier, while the expanded adjusted EBITDA loss widened to $188.6 million from $107.9 million. Adjusted EPS loss of 30 cents was greater than the feared 14 cents.

Year-to-date, Nikola shares have dipped 53.2% to close at $1.04 on Friday.
