Musk Delivers 'As Promised' With Tesla's YouTube Ads On Supercharger Network And Charging Features

EV giant Tesla Inc TSLA is seemingly picking up pace on advertising with multiple video ads on YouTube.

What Happened: The new ad noted by Tesla enthusiasts on YouTube and posted on X touts the ease of charging Tesla vehicles with its app that notifies the driver when charging is complete and also its supercharger network with over 50,000 superchargers around the globe.

This is, however, not the first YouTube ad from the EV giant. Last week, Benzinga reported on another ad highlighting the safety aspect of Tesla cars.

Why It Matters: Earlier this year, in May, Musk had said that he was open to trying some advertising, diverging from the company's former stance of staying away from traditional advertising.

"I believe in taking suggestions, so, well, we'll try a little advertising and see how it goes," he said. He also later outlined his idea about good advertising as informative, visually appealing, and having an artistic element.

“As promised,” Musk said on X in response to the newly noted advertisement without elaborating.

The ramp-up in advertising also follows the lower-than-expected deliveries the company reported in the third quarter. In the quarter ended September, Tesla delivered only 435,059 units, down from the 466,140 units delivered in the second quarter. However, the company still aims to deliver 1.8 million vehicles for the whole year, putting pressure on the company to deliver about 476,000 vehicles before the year ends.
