Since libertarian Javier Milei was elected president of Argentina with nearly 56% of the votes, world leaders have reached out to him. China President Xi Jinping and El Salvador President Nayib Bukele are among those who have contacted his office with Bukele being one of the first.
Today, it was former U.S. President Donald Trump's turn.
In a recent statement from the office of President-elect Milei, it stated that he received a call from the former president to offer congratulations and to communicate to him a forthcoming visit to Buenos Aires.
"The victory by a wide margin in last Sunday's election has had a significant impact internationally," Trump told Milei, according to the press release.
The exact date has not been specified yet, but the visit is likely to take place after Milei's inauguration on Dec. 10.
