In a recent development, the 2023 Game of the Year “Baldur's Gate 3” has extended its availability to Xbox Series X and S. The game had previously made a successful debut on other platforms, including PC and PS5.
What Happened: The Verge reported that the popular role-playing game is now up for grabs on Microsoft’s MSFT Xbox Series X and S. The Xbox variant of the game, which carries a price tag of $69.99, was under development shortly after its PC launch in August 2023.

The game’s developers, Larian Studios, have noted that the Xbox version does not extend support for split-screen co-op on Xbox Series S. It also only permits cross-save between Steam and Xbox Series consoles, presenting potential limitations for players wishing to shift their PS5 save to Xbox.
On top of Xbox, this acclaimed RPG can also be played on PC, Mac, and PS5. A premium physical edition of the game is currently open for pre-order across all these platforms.
Why It Matters: The game’s success can be partly attributed to its unique gameplay elements which have intriguing player choices in the game. Larian Studios shared data revealing an unconventional romantic option involving a character named Halsin, a druid with the ability to transform into a bear. This aspect adds to the game’s appeal and could be a contributing factor to its popularity on other platforms.
