WATCH: Rivian's Furry Yeti Takes Center Stage In Stop Motion Film Showcasing Innovative Gear Guard Security System

EV manufacturer Rivian Automotive Inc RIVN has released a new stop motion film on its gear guard security system featuring a representative furry yeti character.

What Happened: Gear guard is a security system that monitors the vehicle and the luggage in the R1T truck bed when the driver steps away. It includes both hardware and software used to keep the vehicle safe.

The new film was made in collaboration with artist Foster Huntington and features a furry yeti watching a Rivian R1T and the bikes in its trunk while its driver is away. It was created with 24 frames per second and shows a thief attempting to steal the bikes from the truck only to be scared away by the loving yeti.

Talking about the character, Rivian said, “Our furry friend’s spirit was born out of a desire to add security in a smart and friendly fashion, without operating from a place of fear.”

However, it is seemingly effective at the same time as being cute. With the system, one can also turn on a motion cam to identify and record motion around the vehicle, similar to Tesla’s sentry mode.

It is also available on all models of the R1T.
