Alphabet Inc.'s GOOG GOOGL Google Maps lets you share your live location with anyone on iMessage, WhatsApp, Messenger and other apps.
What Happened: Google Maps has a feature that allows you to share your live location with anyone, even if the receiver does not have a Google account.
This means that you can allow your friends or family members to track your location on Google Maps without asking them to sign in or sign up for a Google account.
While iMessage and WhatsApp also allow users to share their live location using built-in features, sharing via Google Maps might be more preferable for some users.
If you are among those, you can now do it seamlessly. Here's how it works.

How To Use Google Maps To Share Live Location On iMessage, WhatsApp And More
- Open the Google Maps app on your Android or iOS device.
- Now, tap your profile picture and then Location sharing in the drop-down menu.
- Tap New share and select the duration according to your needs.
- Now, in the share menu, scroll to the end and tap Copy to clipboard.
This will copy a custom link to your clipboard. You can now send this to any of your friends and family, and they will be able to view your name, location, and your phone's charge level.
Note that anyone with this custom link can see your live location, so be careful who you share it with.
