Here's How To Fix iPhone Stuck In Boot Loop After iOS 17.3 Beta 2 Update

Apple Inc. AAPL has pulled the iOS 17.3 Beta 2 update after several users reported their iPhones were stuck in a boot loop.

If your iPhone is now stuck in a boot loop after this update, you now know what caused it.

What Happened: The iOS 17.3 Beta 2 boot loop issue seems to be affecting users who have the Back Tap gesture enabled on their iPhones, according to a discovery by developer Guilherme Rambo.

According to iSoftware Updates, the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15 series are all affected by this bug.

The iOS 17.3 update promises to be an important one. It includes a feature called Stolen Device Protection. Like the name suggests, it adds a layer of security to ensure that even if your phone is stolen, the thief cannot access your data.

This is also what makes things a little complicated in this case – usually, a hard reset of the iPhone solves boot loop issues. However, it does not work in this instance.

Thankfully, Rambo has identified a fix that can help you fix your iPhone.

How To Fix iPhone Stuck In Boot Loop After iOS 17.3 Beta 2 Update

  • Download the iOS 17.3 Beta 1 installer (IPSW) on your Mac.
  • Plug in your iPhone and press volume up, then volume down.
  • Now, to enter the recovery mode, press and hold the side button.
  • Open Finder, hold down the Option button and select the IPSW you downloaded in the first step.

Note that this method will delete all your data. You can restore your data from the latest iCloud backup once your iPhone is back up and running.
