Former President Donald Trump has hinted at a potential role for former GOP rival Vivek Ramaswamy in his team, following the latter’s endorsement of Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
What Happened: Trump, at a rally in New Hampshire on Tuesday, suggested that Ramaswamy could be joining his team, as per a Fox News report. This comes just a day after Ramaswamy suspended his own presidential campaign and threw his support behind Trump.
During the rally, Trump praised Ramaswamy, calling him a “fantastic guy” and hinting at a future collaboration.
“He’s going to be working with us and he’ll be working with us for a long time,” Trump said.
Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur, has not yet confirmed the nature of his potential role in Trump’s team.
Trump’s endorsement came after Ramaswamy’s disappointing performance in the Iowa caucuses, where he finished fourth. Ramaswamy, who had aimed to emulate Trump’s political success as an outsider, concluded that there was no feasible way for him to advance in the race.

Why It Matters: Ramaswamy’s decision to suspend his presidential campaign and endorse Trump came after a disappointing performance in the Iowa caucuses, where he finished fourth. The biotech entrepreneur, who aimed to emulate Trump's political success as an outsider, concluded that there was no feasible way for him to advance in the race, "without events that we don't want to see occur in this country."
Meanwhile, Trump had publicly criticized Ramaswamy just days ahead of the Iowa caucuses for campaign t-shirts bearing the slogan "Save Trump, Vote Vivek." The former president saw this as a cunning maneuver to gain support, with the shirts suggesting Trump's return to the presidency is impeded by a "deep state."
