Apple Inc. AAPL is likely to introduce its Vision Pro mixed reality headset in global markets before the Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) in June, according to a renowned analyst.

What Happened: The Vision Pro is expected to be released in non-U.S. markets before the WWDC 2024, said analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, as reported by CNBC TV18 on Wednesday. Kuo also anticipates that Apple will share more details about the visionOS with global developers at the annual conference in June.

Kuo explained that the initial U.S.-only launch was due to supply constraints, ensuring a smooth sales process, and the need to modify algorithms to comply with international regulations. Once these issues are resolved, the headset will be available in more countries.

Why It Matters: This development comes after Kuo revealed the release date for the Vision Pro in the US, providing investors with key insights into the upcoming launch. The Vision Pro, priced at $3,499, is set to hit U.S. stores on Feb. 2, with pre-orders starting on Jan. 19.

The headset, which has been described as having “limited battery life, an unwieldy design, and no killer app,” is expected to pose a significant marketing challenge for Apple.

Meanwhile, Apple is preparing for the Vision Pro’s U.S. debut with a sophisticated sales pitch, including a 25-minute demo session for customers. Retail employees have been called to the company’s headquarters to understand the sales process, which involves a face scan to determine the appropriate fit for the customer.
