Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk agreed with Donald Trump ally Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) that Dr. Anthony Fauci should be sent to jail.
What Happened: Musk, who has been a vocal critic of Fauci in the past over his COVID-19 pandemic response, agreed with Paul that the former White House chief medical advisor should face the consequences of lying to Congress.
In an interview with Fox News, Paul said he wants Fauci to be jailed and he has already "sent two referrals to the Department of Justice."
"I think he lied to Congress, which is a felony."
Paul also brought up how "several folks" in former President Trump's administration were "cordoned off to jail with FBI agents all over the property… yanking them out of the house."

One of the Republicans whose properties were searched by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) includes former President Trump. His Mar-a-Lago estate was searched by FBI agents, an event he termed as "dark times for our nation."
This comes at a time when Fauci's former boss, the former head of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Francis Collins, admitted that the COVID-19 lab leak theory is credible and not just a "conspiracy."
Fauci is alleged to have secretly entered the Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) headquarters to "prompt" the "Proximal Origin" paper that was used to "disprove the lab leak theory."
Why It Matters: Fauci has been subject to attacks and calls for being jailed by Republicans, including Trump, as well as Musk.
Musk has asked for Fauci's prosecution back in December 2022. He said that Fauci "lied to Congress and funded gain-of-function research that killed millions of people. Not awesome."
Trump, too, has been a vocal critic of Fauci, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in May 2020, when he called Fauci's comments at a Senate hearing "not acceptable."
He even publicly slammed Fauci's comments about rising cases, calling his assertion "Wrong!"
