What Happened: Brownlee reacted after his Humane AI Pin review went viral on social media, with users on both sides of the spectrum wondering if his opinion was justified or not, and whether it would kill the company that made this product.
It's not the first negative review that Brownlee has posted. He recalled his Razer Phone review from 2017, where he panned the smartphone for its "trash" vibration motor.
Razer turned things around and fixed it in its second smartphone, the Razer Phone 2, in 2018. Brownlee recalls that Razer particularly requested him to check out the new vibration motor in the Phone 2.

"Honest feedback actually turned into action for the company. People who bought the first phone knew what they were getting into, and people who bought the second one actually benefited from that," he said in his latest video reacting to the controversies.
But what has made his Humane AI Pin review the subject of intense chatter is that some social media users believe it could kill the company. The reason? After Brownlee's review of Fisker Inc.'s Ocean SUV, the company is reportedly on the verge of bankruptcy.

However, Brownlee touched upon a very crucial aspect of product reviews in the current day – people check out reviews of a product they are interested in on YouTube, watch a few videos, and then make their buying decisions.
"That's exactly how this YouTube channel started. My first ever tech video was reviewing a laptop."
He adds that he noticed a slot in his laptop that was not talked about in other video reviews, so he decided to do it himself and posted a video, so others who were thinking about buying a laptop would know about it.
Why It Matters: Social media users have been divided over Brownlee's Humane AI Pin review, with some saying that he "bankrupted a company in 41 seconds."
Touted as one of the "Best inventions of 2023" by Time Magazine, the Humane AI Pin is backed by OpenAI's Sam Altman, Tiger Global, and Qualcomm Ventures, among others.
The device is a ChatGPT-powered projector device that can also serve as a personal assistant. It projects information on the palm using a laser projector.
Brownlee called it the "worst product" he’s ever reviewed, which did not sit too well with some people on X, formerly Twitter.
However, Brownlee's question is, "Do bad reviews kill companies or do bad products?"
