Ford Motor Co CEO Jim Farley on Thursday lauded a customer in Dubai who used his F-150 Raptor to rescue people during the recent severe floods.
What Happened: Farley took to social media platform X to express his gratitude to the vehicle owner, Ahmad, for his heroic actions.
“Thank you, Ahmad for being a hero to your community!” Farley wrote.
Ahmad’s Rescue Efforts: As per a report by Khaleej Times, Ahmad Darwish Ali Al Emadi utilized his new Ford truck to rescue a 7-day-old baby and a family of four from flooded areas in Dubai on April 16 when Dubai experienced record-breaking rainfall, causing severe flooding in several neighborhoods.
Despite the risk to his new Ford Raptor 150, the Emirati resident responded to a distress call from a Kazakh friend. The friend’s 7-day-old baby needed urgent medical attention, but the neighborhood was submerged in waist-high water, the report said.
Ahmad, a cybersecurity and innovation head at a private firm in Dubai, embarked on a challenging journey from Khawaneej to JVC, which typically takes just over half an hour. Due to the flooded streets and roadblocks, the trip stretched to over three hours. Despite the challenges, he successfully transported the baby to the hospital, where immediate medical attention was provided.
The individual also assisted a stranded family of four in Mirdif and helped the Dubai Police in rescuing stranded vehicles, the report said.
"Even after many rescue operations and my new truck in water for over five hours, I did not find a single scratch," Ahmad told the newspaper.
