Tesla Inc. CEO and X owner Elon Musk reacted to a post that suggests using Microsoft Corp.'s LinkedIn for more than five minutes can turn a user into a zombie.

What Happened: In a post on Tuesday on X, formerly Twitter, Musk laughed and agreed with a user who joked users who "spend more than five minutes on LinkedIn" turn into zombies.

LinkedIn has been a topic of discussion for Musk in the past. He has criticized the platform as “cringe” and hinted at a cooler alternative through X, amid rising global users and previous tensions with co-founder Reid Hoffman.

Why It Matters: Musk’s recent post is in line with his previous criticism of LinkedIn. In August, he publicly expressed his disdain for LinkedIn, calling it "cringe," and hinted that X has plans to introduce an alternative with promises of being far more "cool."

Months after this, Musk’s X announced that there are over one million job listings on X from recruiters. This move was seen as a step towards turning X into the “everything app,” a goal that Musk has been pursuing.

With this in mind, X rolled out the “Job Cards” feature in September, allowing recruiters and job seekers to connect on the social media platform.
