Tesla Introduces New Accessories For Cybertruck: $300 Tailgate Shield And $100 Jumpseats

EV giant Tesla Inc TSLA has launched new products for its stainless steel Cybertruck at its online shop, including a $100 jumpseat.

What Happened: Tesla has added two products to its shop for the Cybertruck- a $300 tailgate shield and $100 jumpseats.

While the tailgate shield features a custom-designed pad that covers the tailgate when hauling equipment over it, it also has straps to attach bikes or goods to the molle webbing on the interior side.

The jumpseats, priced at $100, meanwhile, are wrapped in Cordura nylon fabric and feature a thermoformed backrest. One can fit up to three jumpseats along the Cybertruck tailgate, Tesla says on its website, allowing for tailgate parties, picnics, and sporting events. The seats are also collapsible for easy storage.

Why It Matters: Tesla has an array of products in its online shop derived from the Cybertruck's angular design, including a stainless steel bottle opener and even an angular hammer. It also has several products for the Cybertruck such as underseat storage bins and mudflaps.

The Cybertruck is the latest offering from Tesla. While the company intends to deliver 250,000 Cybertrucks every year starting in 2025, the company is currently only ramping production.

The low production volume, coupled with the Cybertruck’s stainless steel exterior, angular design, and higher price point has made it a celebrity pick and collectible. The higher-end version of the Cybertruck is priced at $99,990 in the U.S.
