Air Products Posts Upbeat Earnings, Joins Meta, Exact Sciences, Shake Shack, Clearwater Analytics And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher On Thursday

U.S. stocks were lower, with the Dow Jones index falling over 500 points on Thursday.

Shares of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. APD rose sharply during Thursday's session after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter adjusted EPS results.

Air Products reported third-quarter 2024 adjusted EPS of $3.20, up 7% year-over-year, beating the consensus of $3.03. Sales declined 2% YoY to $2.986 billion, missing the consensus of $3.035 billion due to 2% unfavorable currency and 1% lower energy cost pass-through.

Air Products shares jumped 11.4% to $293.82 on Thursday.
