Elon Musk has committed to investigating allegations that his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter) is curbing automated posts after the National Weather Service Twin Cities, Minnesota, complained about it.

What Happened: Over the weekend, NWS Twin Cities, Minnesota, took to X and said that the platform has been restricting automated tweets.

“X is now limiting automated tweets and as a result, this account can no longer post all watches/warnings/advisories as they are issued,” the NWS complained.

The service went on to advise followers to have multiple means for receiving weather information and alerts.

In response, Musk, who acquired Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022 and later rebranded it as X, said, “This should not be happening. Will investigate.”
