Theriva Biologics announced on Monday that it was granted Rare Pediatric Drug Designation (RPDD) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for VCN-01 for the treatment of retinoblastoma, the most common type of eye cancer in children.

On Wednesday, the company received a notice of allowance for a U.S. Patent application titled “Beta-Lactamase Formulations & Uses Thereof” for treating c. difficile disease.

Theriva Biologics shares also began trading on a reverse stock split-adjusted basis on Monday. According to data from Benzinga Pro,the reverse split reduced the stock's float to less than one million shares which may be contributing to its price volatility.
