Travelers Posts Upbeat Results, Joins Iridium Communications, Snap-on And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher On Thursday

U.S. stocks were higher, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 100 points on Thursday.

Shares of The Travelers Companies, Inc. TRV rose sharply during Thursday's session after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter results.

The Travelers Companies reported third-quarter revenue growth of 12% year-over-year to $11.904 billion, beating the consensus of $11.491 billion. Core income per share jumped 169% to $5.24, beating the $3.64 consensus estimate.

Travelers gained 6.9% to $259.63 on Thursday.

• Gevo, Inc.  GEVO gained 27.6% to $2.87 after the company announced it secured a DOE conditional commitment loan of $1.46 billion for its net-zero 1 sustainable aviation fuel plant in South Dakota.
• Iridium Communications Inc. IRDM gained 16.2% to $35.09 after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter revenue results and raised its FY24 OEBITDA guidance.
• XCHG Limited XCH climbed 15.2% to $19.60.
• Centrus Energy Corp. LEU gained 14.7% to $88.74.
• SelectQuote, Inc. SLQT shares gained 14.6% to $2.58 after the company announced it completed the first phase of recapitalization with $100 million securitization transaction.
• Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited TSM gained 12.6% to $211.14 following a third-quarter earnings beat and strong fourth-quarter guidance.
• Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. FOLD gained 11.1% to $11.67 after the company announced it entered into a license agreement with Teva and resolved its Galafold patent litigation.
• Webster Financial Corporation WBS climbed 8.5% to $52.76 following third-quarter results.
• Cohen & Steers, Inc. CNS gained 7.7% to $109.00 after UBS upgraded the stock from Sell to Neutral and raised its price target from $63 to $102.
• Uranium Energy Corp. UEC gained 7.3% to $8.54. Uranium Energy increased licensed production capacity to 4 million pounds of U3O8 PER YEAR AT the Irigaray Processing Plant.
• Snap-on Incorporated SNA climbed 7.2% to $319.43 after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter adjusted EPS results.
• GrafTech International Ltd. EAF gained 7% to $1.6900.
• Expedia Group, Inc. EXPE climbed 4.6% to $157.78 following a report suggesting Uber explored a takeover bid for the company.
