Stephen King Slams Elon Musk, Claims Most Of His Posts Spread 'Pro-Trump Disinformation And Outright Lies'

American author Stephen King on Sunday alleged that billionaire CEO Elon Musk’s posts on his social media platform X posts are promoting “outright lies” and warned the public to consider that he has interests in the upcoming elections.

What Happened: “The Musk-man has posted 3,000 times on Twitter in the last month. Most are pro-Trump disinformation and outright lies,” King wrote on social media platform X. “Remember, he has skin in the game. Consider his posts accordingly.”

Musk officially endorsed former President and Republican Donald Trump in July after a shooting incident at a rally in Pennsylvania. The billionaire also attended a Trump campaign event in Pennsylvania in October and termed the election a "must-win situation" for Trump.

Trump, meanwhile, has expressed his intent to set up a government efficiency commission led by Musk if elected President. The commission will be tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the federal government and recommending reforms, Trump said in September.

Musk Responds: Musk responded to King’s post on X but did not address the allegations of disinformation.

“I can't believe you counted how many posts I've made lmaooo,” Musk wrote on X. “Stephen, you pay more attention than my biggest fans.”

Why It Matters: Musk is actively gathering votes for Trump both online and offline in Pennsylvania.

He founded a super PAC called America PAC to which he has so far given over $100 million in a bid to support Trump’s presidential campaign, cementing him as a key figure in this year’s Presidential election.

The billionaire has also been promoting the idea that the Biden administration has allowed undocumented immigrants to cross "open borders" and harm the U.S.

He also propounded the conspiracy theory that immigrants are voting in the U.S. elections in favor of the Democratic Party when non-citizens cannot legally register or vote in federal elections, a theory popular among Republicans as they take on Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
