Mark Zuckerberg Talks Non-Profit Achievements While Displaying A $1.2 Million Patek Philippe Watch

Mark Zuckerberg recently shared a glimpse into his personal and professional life through a lighthearted Instagram video posted by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. While the video focused on the couple’s nonprofit work and fun personal anecdotes, many viewers couldn't help but notice the stunning watch on Zuckerberg's wrist – a Patek Philippe Grand Complications 5303R in 18k rose gold, worth a jaw-dropping $1.2 million.

This luxurious timepiece isn't just an accessory; it's a masterpiece of craftsmanship. The Patek Philippe Minute Repeater Skeleton 5303R is a rare creation that puts its intricate mechanics on full display. The watch's standout feature is its open sapphire dial, where you can see the hammers and gongs of the minute repeater in action – essentially, the watch chimes the time in an audible format. Its rose-gold case, paired with white-gold decorative details and a black alligator leather strap, makes it as much a work of art as it is an engineering feat.

In the video, Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, answered rapid-fire questions while offering a glimpse into their daily life. From sharing their favorite school subjects (Zuckerberg loves coding, biology and math) to talking about making homemade ice cream (from their own dairy cow, no less) with their kids. Zuckerberg even joked about losing a pair of mittens Chan made for him when they were teenagers.

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative has been working on innovative health projects, such as developing microsensors to detect inflammation in the body. Zuckerberg highlighted their potential to help people live healthier lives, showcasing the couple's commitment to merging technology and philanthropy.

While the video celebrated the couple's efforts to advance education, health care and scientific research, Zuckerberg's growing watch collection caught some extra attention. Known for his simple wardrobe, his taste in watches is anything but basic. The Patek Philippe 5303R, originally retailing for $720,000, now commands an average selling price of $1.2 million. It joins other high-end pieces in Zuckerberg's collection, like the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC, which was spotted on his wrist earlier this year.

Addressing the Bunker Rumors

In addition to his nonprofit work and luxury watches, Zuckerberg recently clarified rumors surrounding a supposed massive bunker on his Hawaii compound. In an interview with Bloomberg, he addressed a WIRED report that suggested he was building a 5,000-square-foot bunker under his Kauai property.

"That's just like a little shelter," Zuckerberg said. "Whatever you want to call it, hurricane shelter, whatever. I think it got like, blown out of proportion as if like the whole ranch was some kind of doomsday bunker, which is just not true."

He explained that their Hawaii property, Koolau Ranch, focuses on ranching and sustainability. "The Kauai thing is really fun," he shared. "We have this whole vertical integration plan where we're growing macadamia nuts to feed the macadamia meal and we're brewing beer because that helps [the cattle] eat more. That's fun."
