Boeing Company BA disclosed an initial order from Avia Solutions Group for 40 of its 737-8 aircraft, with an option to purchase an additional 40 in the future.
Avia Solutions Group holds 11 air operator certificates, including Avion Express and Smartlynx, serving airlines and tour operators in over 60 countries year-round.
The 737-8 is a single-aisle aircraft that seats 162 to 210 passengers and has a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles (6,480 km), depending on its configuration.
Brad McMullen, Boeing senior vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing, said, “ACMI providers such as Avia Solutions Group offer important, flexible capacity to meet the dynamic demand in our industry, and we are honored Avia has selected Boeing airplanes to help meet that demand from its customers.”
Last month, LATAM Airlines ordered 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliners with options for five more, expanding the fleet to 52 by 2030.
Recently, the company stated that it is considering the sale of Jeppesen, a navigation unit it acquired in 2000, to reduce its $58 billion debt.
