Ameresco, Inc. AMRC has secured approval for a streetlight technology pilot in New Orleans.
The program intends to enhance efficiency and safety with advanced LED and smart technology. Partnering with Legacy Professional Services and AllStar Electric, Ameresco will upgrade 56 streetlights with LED equivalents and integrate Ubicquia’s UbiCell LMS, UbiHub devices, and TerraGo software for asset management.

The project includes smart video analytics for tracking pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle data, boosting public safety. Ubicquia’s UbiVu system enables rapid deployment, ensuring seamless expansion post-pilot.
Recently, Ameresco secured a CAD 26.7 million solar project at the 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown, delivering 8.9 MW of renewable energy. It will cut 7,695 metric tons of CO₂ annually, and meet 20% of the base’s power needs.
Ameresco will manage operations for 25 years, supporting Canada’s goal of 100% clean electricity for federal facilities by 2025, with completion set for June 2025.
