Marsh & McLennan Earnings Fall (MMC)

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. MMC announced on Tuesday morning that it just missed consensus Wall Street earnings estimates. Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc reported that its 3rd quarter net income fell to $168 million, or 30 cents per share, down from $221 million, or 41 cents per share, a year earlier. Excluding special items, the company's earnings came in at 27 cents per share. The company's revenue rose 7% to $2.52 billion, up from $2.35 billion a year earlier. According to a survey of analysts by Thomson Reuters, the average Wall Street estimate called for earnings of 28 cents per share, on revenue of $2.48 billion. President and CEO Brian Duperreault said: “We are pleased with the progress our company has made, not only in the third quarter but throughout the year. In the quarter, all four of our Operating Companies produced strong underlying revenue growth, the first time this has occurred since 2007." Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.
