UPDATE: Roper Reports 49% Surge In Q2 Profit, Raises FY11 Earnings Outlook

Roper Industries Inc ROP reported a 49% rise in its second-quarter profit. Roper reported its quarterly profit at $106.3 million, or $1.08 per share, up from $71.3 million, or $0.74 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, Roper's earnings came in at $1.03 per share. Its revenue climbed 23% to $699.9 million. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.99 per share on revenue of $680.12 million. Roper also lifted its full-year earnings forecast to $4.20 to $4.30 per share, excluding acquisitions. Roper shares gained 0.64% to close at $84.46 on Friday.
