UPDATE: Nasdaq Reports 4.2% Drop In Q2 Profit

Nasdaq OMX Group Inc NDAQ reported a 4.25 drop in its second-quarter profit. Nasdaq reported its quarterly earnings at $92 million, down from $96 million, in the year-ago period. Its earnings per share rose to $0.51 from $0.46. Excluding items, Nasdaq's earnings came in at $0.62 per share. Its revenue rose 6.7% to $416 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.60 per share on revenue of $413 million. Nasdaq shares gained 0.54% to $24.42 in pre-market trading.
