Shares of Mistras Group Inc MG were trading up almost 14 percent on Wednesday’s after-hours session, following the announcement of the company’s second quarter –fiscal 2016- financial results. The small cap provider of asset protection solutions reported earnings of $0.39 per share on revenue of $194.79 million, well above the Street’s consensus estimate, which called for earnings of $0.28 per share on sales of $186.21 million.
Also up in after-hours was Michael Kors Holdings Ltd KORS, which gained more than 1 percent since the bell rang on –apparently- no news. It seems like the surge was a correction of the 2.36 percent decline the stock experienced over the regular trading session.
Another stock moving on its earnings report was Resources Connection, Inc. RECN, down about 0.5 percent since the market closed. The small cap multinational consulting firm retrieved earnings of $0.23 per share on revenue of $150.89 million, missing analyst estimates. The Street was modeling consensus earnings of $0.24 per share on revenue of $153.83 million.
Back to gainers, there’s Zumiez Inc. ZUMZ, up more than 14 percent since the bell rang. The surge was triggered by the report of the company’s December sales, and an increased guidance for its fourth quarter. The retailer said it anticipates fiscal fourth quarter net sales in the $237 million to $239 million range, and net income between $0.45 per share and $0.47 per share.
