AeroVironment Inc AVAV reported third-quarter financial results for fiscal 2025 after the market close on Tuesday. Here’s a rundown of the report.
Q3 Earnings: AeroVironment reported third-quarter revenue of $167.6 million, missing estimates of $196.37 million, according to Benzinga Pro. The company reported third-quarter adjusted earnings of 30 cents per share, missing analyst estimates of 63 cents per share.
Total revenue was down 10% year-over-year, reflecting lower product sales and service revenue. AeroVironment reported a $3.1 million loss from operations in the third quarter. The company said it had a record funded backlog of $763.5 million as of Jan. 25.
“We faced a number of short-term challenges in the third quarter, including the unprecedented high winds and fires in Southern California, which impacted our ability to meet our goals,” said Wahid Nawabi, chairman, president and CEO of AeroVironment.
“Nevertheless, we made significant progress towards executing our long-term growth strategy and building resiliency for the future.”

Outlook: AeroVironment lowered its full-year outlook. The company now expects full-year 2025 revenue of $780 million to $795 million, down from a prior outlook of $790 million to $820 million. AeroVironment now expects full-year adjusted earnings of $2.92 to $3.13 per share, down from a prior outlook of $3.18 to $3.49 per share.
Analysts are looking for full-year revenue of $821.4 million and earnings of $3.45 per share. The revised guidance appears to be sparking a selloff in shares after hours.
Management is currently discussing the quarter on a conference call that started at 4:30 p.m. ET.
