This Week's Earnings Calendar

Earnings season is ramping up, and this week's spotlight is on Tesla. Alongside it, we'll also hear from major consumer-facing companies like Verizon, Procter & Gamble, and Chipotle. These reports will offer valuable insight into the health and behavior of the U.S. consumer.

Tesla's report stands out as particularly compelling. Over the past year, Elon Musk has become more active in the political arena. While the outcome of the November election initially seemed favorable, the stock has since declined by over 50%, and internal challenges have mounted. Investors will be looking to this week's report for signs of a potential turnaround, or further confirmation of instability.

Chipotle and P&G also deserve attention. Both companies are well-positioned to comment on real-time consumer demand. Any mention of a demand slowdown will be key, especially as many anticipate the start of a broader economic cool-down.

On the macro front, all eyes will be on services and manufacturing PMI data. These indicators will provide a fresh pulse check on economic activity. I'm especially watching the manufacturing data for early signs of impact from the new tariffs introduced earlier this month.

Lastly, a trade deal may be announced in the coming days. It's been over a week since the pause on reciprocal tariffs, and weekend developments suggest the first deal, likely with Japan, could be finalized soon. This would lay the foundation for future trade agreements and potentially reduce some near-term uncertainty.

My advice? Focus on the positive and keep an optimistic outlook.
