Silver Margins Raised At CME (SLV)

The silver margins have been raised at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange CME from $5,000 to $6,500, which is the reasoning behind the sell off in the precious metal today. It had hit a high of over $29 an ounce, but is now down to around $27.50 per ounce, a sharp reversal. The ETF which tracks the price of silver, iShares Silver Trust ETF SLV is now down 59 cents to $26.56, a loss of 2.2%. It had been as high as $28.72 on the session.
