AppleInsider is reporting that Apple AAPL is going to add another component supplier, as Chimei Innolux is expected to start shipping touch sensors for the iPad 2 next month.
Chimei has recently signed a deal that will allow it to create LCD displays with the in-plane switching technology, and has already started to develop touch sensors, products that both viable to the iPad's success. With these moves, Chimei hopes to become a place where suppliers can get all their needs. The company is an affiliate of Foxconn Technology Group, which builds Apple products in China.
At last check, shares of Apple are up $1.92 to $336.92, a gain of 0.57%.
