Powering Europe's Future: Ford Debuts Commercial EV Compact Van for Continental Market

  • On Thursday, Ford Motor Co. F launched a new all-electric commercial vehicle, E-Transit Courier, and expanded its line-up of innovative electrified and connected cargo vans.
  • It is part of the company’s $50 billion+ goal to accelerate the expansion of electric vehicles (EVs) globally.
  • The all-new vehicle will enter production in 2024. Ford Europe customers will be able to order petrol- and diesel-engine Transit Courier models from summer 2023 for delivery before the end of the year.

  • E‑Transit Courier includes Ford Pro’s platform of software and connected services to drive efficient operation. The charging process can be optimized per the requirement while charging at the home, depot, or in public.
  • The company is anticipating the new vehicle to be favored by customers who charge at home, with an expected overnight charging rate of 11 kW AC in 5.7 hours. 
  • To facilitate seamless public charging, E-Transit Courier has a DC fast charge capability of up to 100 kW, with a strong charging rate (10%-80% in less than 35 minutes), and covers a range of 87km in 10 minutes.
  • The vehicle is designed to deliver 25% more load volume (than the outgoing model) and has a higher payload to boost productivity. 
  • The company expects non-schedule maintenance costs of E-Transit Couriers to be 35% lower than diesel models. 
  • Price Action: F shares are trading lower by 0.93% at $12.32 on the last check Thursday.
