The Details: Former governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum, will appear before members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee as Trump's pick to lead the Interior Department. Burgum has also been chosen to head the National Energy Council.
If confirmed, Burgum is expected to shift policies in favor of drilling which could benefit large oil companies like Exxon Mobil Corp. XOM and Chevron Corp. CVX.

Scott Bessent, Trump’s pick for Secretary of the Treasury, is scheduled for a confirmation hearing in front of the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday.
The billionaire investor and CEO of Key Square Group will likely face questions regarding his views on taxes, tariffs, trade and cryptocurrency.
According to an ABC News report, Bessent is expected to testify, saying, "Productive investment that grows the economy must be prioritized over wasteful spending that drives inflation."
Lee Zeldin, who represented New York’s 1st congressional district in the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023, will face the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee as Trump's choice to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.
