A Reuters report shows that that breakup fee in the AT&T T deal to buy T-Mobile USA for $39 billion is a whopping $6 billion in cash, services and assets, should the deal not go through.
According to sources close to the deal, the breakup fee is comprised of $3 billion in cash, as well as $2 billion in spectrum. The remaining $1 billion is a roaming agreement.
If AT&T is successful in buying T-Mobile, it will move past Verizon Wireless VZ as the largest mobile provider in the U.S.
At last check, shares of AT&T were up 31 cents to $31.69, a gain of 1% on 15 million shares.
