FOX Business Network (FBN) Senior Correspondent Charlie Gasparino reports on the mounting pressure Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein is facing with “multiple investigations” by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) on allegations of insider trading. Rochdale Securities financial analyst Richard Bove tells Gasparino that he would be “surprised if the DOJ would completely ignore the referral from the Levin Committee." Excerpts from the report are below, courtesy of Fox Business Network.
Dick Bove on whether Lloyd Blankfein will remain Goldman Sachs CEO after the DOJ/SEC investigations:
“FBN asked him point blank do you think Lloyd Blankfein will survive? Bove said he would be surprised if the DOJ would completely ignore the referral from the Levin Committee, which included perjury and a whole bunch of other stuff regarding their business practices. If they don't ignore that referral, he basically says Lloyd Blankfein is toast.”
Gasparino on the pressure facing Lloyd Blankfein:
“Look at the pressure being built on him. Lloyd Blankfein has multiple investigations including a criminal referral. Dick Bove put out a note today saying because of these investigations you should essentially sell the stock.”
