State Auto Financial Board Elects New Officer

The board of directors of State Auto Financial Corporation STFC has elected Timothy G. Reik a vice president following his appointment as Director of Risk Evaluation and Design Operations. Reik was also elected a vice president of State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company and State Auto Property & Casualty Insurance Company. RED, which is State Auto's affiliate in the alternative risk transfer and program business, is an important part of State Auto's strategy to diversify into the specialty insurance market. Reik joined State Auto in 2000 as a territory manager for the state of Indiana. In 2006, he joined the program management office as assistant vice president of personal lines marketing, and was named assistant vice president of sales and marketing in 2008. Prior to joining State Auto, Reik held positions in underwriting, marketing, product management, pricing and project management with Shelby Insurance, Milwaukee Insurance and Kemper Insurance.
