Healthways Announces Election of Chairman of the Board, John Ballantine

Healthways, Inc. HWAY today announced the election of John Ballantine as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company. Mr. Ballantine has been a member of the Healthways' Board since 2003 and has served on the Compensation Committee, the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and most recently as the Chairman of the Audit Committee. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Management Officer of First Chicago NBD Corporation. Mr. Ballantine also serves as a director of DWS Funds, Portland General Electric and as a member of the Executive Network advisory board of Glencoe Capital, a private equity firm.
