Yext Inc YEXT, an AI-powered search solutions provider, announced a new feature Tuesday that allows users to create websites without writing any code.

What Happened: The feature, “Studio,” is part of Yext’s Pages product and will be available in its Spring 2023 release.

Studio is a visual editor that lets users drag and drop components to build web pages written in “React,” a popular programming language for web development. Users can customize the style, layout, and interactivity of the components within Studio, while Studio generates the React code behind the scenes.

According to Yext, Studio is designed for both technical and non-technical teams who want to create fast and SEO-friendly websites.

Developers can create custom React components and load them into Studio for others to use. Content editors or designers can use Studio to modify existing components or create new ones without coding.

Studio also integrates with Yext’s “Knowledge Graph,” a system that stores and manages data for businesses. Users can leverage Yext’s Content Generation feature to automatically create web pages for entities stored in the Knowledge Graph. This can help businesses scale their SEO and content strategies with large language models like ChatGPT.

Yext said that Studio is more developer-friendly than other WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors because it writes React code to a shared GitHub repository, where developers can review and edit it if needed. This also ensures that all collaborators have visibility into a project’s progress.

Yext says that Studio is part of its vision to deliver relevant and actionable answers wherever people look for information.

"Studio represents a significant leap forward in empowering businesses to manage their full spectrum of digital experiences," said Yext CEO Marc Ferrentino. “You shouldn’t need an army of developers or a computer science degree to build a great website.”
