iPhone Coming to China Mobile? Reports Say Yes

Apple is reportedly teaming with China Mobile for a deal that could expose the iPhone to 600M people. Forbes has published an interesting story this morning that indicates the iPhone will soon be available to China Mobile CHL subscribers. If true, this would give Apple AAPL the opportunity to reach an additional 600 million subscribers. The phone, which will come in the CDMA variety to meet the needs of China Mobile's service, could be marketed as a lower cost pre-paid version of the iPhone we know and love. According to Forbes, more than 90% of China's cellular market uses pre-paid phones. While nothing has been confirmed, the iPhone is expected to hit China Mobile as early as October (around the same time that the iPhone 5 is scheduled to launch in the United States), or as late as early 2012.
