Digital World Acquisition Corp DWAC shares are trading higher Wednesday afternoon after former President Donald Trump announced he will be making a "major announcement" on Thursday.
What To Know: Trump posted an animated video on the Truth Social app, depicting himself as superhuman with increased muscular definition and laser eyes.
"America needs a superhero," Trump said at the start of the 15-second clip.
Digital World is a SPAC set to merge with the former president's Trump Media & Technology Group, which is behind the Truth Social app.
In mid-November, Trump officially announced his presidential run for the upcoming 2024 election.
"Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests and my fellow citizens, America's comeback starts right now," Trump said at the time.
Trump's speech at his Mar-a-Lago residence in November was featured on streaming platform Rumble, which partnered with Trump Media & Technology late last year. It's possible Trump could use Rumble to stream the announcement he teased on Wednesday.
