Bed Bath & Beyond Is Back With Big Deals: Overstock Ignites Revival With Attractive Offers

Zinger Key Points
  • Overstock relaunches Bed Bath & Beyond website, offering extensive bed & bath items.
  • Overstock's CEO contemplates rebranding, unsure about changing the current ticker, $OSTK.

Overstock.com Inc OSTK relaunched Bed Bath & Beyond Tuesday after acquiring some of the company's assets in a transaction a few months ago. Bed Bath & Beyond became financially distressed after failing to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, despite a flurry of rallies in the stock.

On the Bed Bath & Beyond website, visitors are now greeted with both the Bed Bath & Beyond logo and the Overstock logo. There is also a message that reads “welcome to a bigger, better beyond” in trendy, lower-case letters.

Overstock has added more than 600,000 bed & bath items since its acquisition of Bed Bath & Beyond, according to the Associated Press. Overstock has already tested Bed Bath & Beyond’s relaunch in Canada, and it has gone “without a hitch” according to Overstock.com’s CEO Jonathan Johnson

Deals And Beyond: The newly-relaunched Bed Bath & Beyond website is offering enticing deals to try and capture new customers. You can use a limited-time coupon for 25% off your entire order, as well as free shipping on everything.

Overstock’s website, overstock.com, now also directs people to Bed Bath & Beyond’s website. It’s unclear if Overstock intends to rebrand as Bed Bath & Beyond or continue with both brands. The new website offers $50 in loyalty points for former Overstock.com loyalty members, as well as Bed Bath & Beyond loyalty members who may have had their rewards wiped out when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Johnson said that the Overstock name and ticker, $OSTK, may not be a fit anymore, but isn’t sure if he wants to bring back Bed Bath & Beyond’s $BBBY ticker.
