1) Rockwood Holdings ROC ranks first with a gain of 10.09%- The company reported net income of $178 million, or $2.24 a share, for the three months ended March 31. 2) Nalco Holding NLC ranks second with a gain of 3.78%- Nalco Holding Co. revenue growth trails the industry average of 21.0%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues rose by 10.9%. Growth in the company's revenue appears to have helped boost the earnings per share. The net income growth from the same quarter one year ago has significantly exceeded that of the S&P 500 and the Chemicals industry. The net income increased by 365.9% when compared to the same quarter one year prior, rising from $25.20 million to $117.40 million.
3) Cytec Industries CYT ranks third with a gain of 3.35%.- Cytec Industries Inc. last announced its quarterly results on Thursday, April 21st. The company reported $0.78 earnings per share (EPS) for the previous quarter, beating the Thomson Reuters consensus estimate of $0.70 EPS by $0.08. During the same quarter in the prior year, the company posted $0.66 earnings per share. The company's quarterly revenue was up 18.50% on a year-over-year basis. On average, analysts predict that Cytec Industries Inc. will post $0.90 EPS next quarter.

FOE ranks forth with a gain of 1.99%- Ferro Corp. reported first-quarter net income attributable to common shareholders of $22.73 million or $0.26 per share, compared to a loss of $233 thousand or break even per share in the prior-year quarter. Net sales for the quarter grew 16 percent to $573 million from $492.87 million in the first quarter of last year.
5) Ecolab ECL ranks fifth with a gain of 1.95%- Ecolab Inc. engages in the development, manufacture, sale, and service of products that clean, sanitize, and promote food safety and infection prevention. In the last five trading sessions, the 50-day MA has climbed 0.16% while the 200-day MA has remained constant. In the past 52 weeks, shares of Ecolab have traded between a low of $44.52 and a high of $52.46 and are now at $52.00, which is 17% above that low price.
