Metals All Higher, Gold Surging

The metals market is much higher today, with gold surging nearly $40 an ounce this morning. Equities are lower, with all three indexes down. Copper is up 5.3 cents to trade at $4.1420, a gain of 1.3%. iPath Dow Jones UBS Copper Total ETF JJC is up 69 cents to $54.24, a gain of 1.3%. Silver is up sharply, up 95 cents to $41.50, a gain of 2.35%. Shares of iShares Silver Trust ETF SLV are up 77 cents this morning, to trade at $40.49, a gain of 1.94%. Gold is up $37.20 an ounce to $1,828.80, a gain of 2.08%. Shares of SPDR Gold Trust ETF GLD are up $4.43 to $178.32. Platinum is up $20.00 an ounce, trading at $1,763.30, a gain of 1.1%. The platinum ETF settings First Trust ISE Global Platinum Index PLTM is up 34 cents this morning to trade at $23.91. Palladium is up $10.00 an ounce today, trading at $764 an ounce, as it looks like it will break $800 an ounce. Shares of ETFS Physical Palladium Shares PALL are sharply higher today, up $1.03 to $75.71.
