Metals Mostly Lower, Copper Higher

The metals market is much lower today, with the notable exception of copper, which is moving back towards $4 per pound. Equities are higher, but well off their highs of the session. Copper is up 6.15 cents to trade at $3.9595, a gain of just over 1.5%. Ipath Dow Jones Ubs Copper Total ETF JJC is up 53 cents to $51.53, a gain of 1.04%. Silver is down 52 cents to $40.01, as it looks like it will break the $40 ounce level. Shares of Ishares Silver Trust ETF SLV are down 97 cents this morning, to trade at $38.63. Gold is down $41 an ounce to $1,785.50, a loss of 2.25%. Shares of Spdr Gold Trust ETF GLD are down $4.11 to $173.10. Platinum is down $23.90 an ounce, trading at $1,792.00, a loss of over 1%. The platinum ETF settings First Trust ISE Global Platinum Index PLTM is up 29 cents this morning to trade at $22.74. Palladium is up $2 an ounce to $723 an ounce, a negligible gain. Shares of ETFS Physical Palladium Shares PALL are up 16 cents to $71.31.
