Metals Down Sharply, Again

The metals market is much lower today, with all of the major industrial and precious metals sharply lower. Equities are lower, but are off the lows of the session. Copper is down 7.6 cents to trade at $3.0740, a loss of just over 2.4%. Ipath Dow Jones Ubs Copper Total ETF JJC is up 20 cents to $40.01, a gain of 0.5%. Silver is down sharply, down 98 cents to $29.83, a loss of over 3%. It has moved past the key $30 an ounce level. Shares of Ishares Silver Trust ETF SLV are flat at $29.49. Gold is down $15.70 an ounce to $1,642.00, a loss of 0.95%. Shares of Spdr Gold Trust ETF GLD are down 52 cents to $160.44. Platinum is down $40.10 an ounce, trading at $1,477.00, a loss of 2.6%. The platinum ETF settings First Trust ISE Global Platinum Index PLTM is down 82 cents this morning to trade at $17.81. Palladium is down $14.90 an ounce today, trading at $578.90, as it moves past the $600 an ounce level. Shares of ETFS Physical Palladium Shares PALL are sharply lower today, down 69 cents to $57.22.
