A statewide Department of Health is using Trumpia’s API in order to send text messages in an effort to help with contact tracing for the COVID-19 epidemic.
Contact tracing is the process used to identify those who come into contact with people who have tested positive for a contagious disease in order to inform them, offer guidance, and provide support.
It works by alerting people who have come in contact with someone who is now a COVID-19 positive patient and wishes to notify all of the people they were around the past 2 weeks. It pairs with a State-made app and detects close contacts via bluetooth signals. All patient information is confidential and alerts are randomized.
Any positive cases will trigger an “exposure alert” as well as the next steps they need to take via a text message powered by Trumpia.
Furthermore, the state is using Trumpia’s API in order to send vaccination reminders for those who have signed up for their vaccine shots. With over a million text messages being sent a month, the state is committed to using text messaging as a vital part of their COVID-19 response.
“We are proud that Trumpia has been chosen as a partner in order to make sure that we come out of this pandemic stronger than ever,” said Ken Rhie, CEO of Trumpia.
Texting is increasingly more common for public health alerts as well as for business communication, since 98% of text messages are read, making it an extremely effective way to reach your audience.
