Metals Mixed, Copper Lagging

The metals market is much higher today, with the notable exception of copper, which is down sharply. Equities are mixed, and well off their highs. Copper is down 6.1 cents to trade at $3.5200, a loss of just over 1.7%. Ipath Dow Jones Ubs Copper Total ETF JJC is down 69 cents to $45.67, a loss of 1.5%. Silver is up 7 cents to $34.01, as it looks like $35 is the next mark for the precious metal. Shares of Ishares Silver Trust ETF SLV are down 18 cents this morning, to trade at $33.07, a loss of 0.54%. Gold is up sharply, up $20.70 an ounce to $1,750.30, a gain of 1.2%. Shares of Spdr Gold Trust ETF GLD are up $1.20 to $170.26. Platinum is up $21.30 an ounce, trading at $1,622.60, a gain of 1.33%. The platinum ETF ETFS Physical Platinum Shares PPLT is up $1.67 this morning to trade at $159.92, a gain of 1.06%. Palladium is up $9.00 an ounce today, trading at $657.65, as it looks like it will break $700 an ounce. Shares of ETFS Physical Palladium Shares PALL are up 17 cents to $64.48.
