Ensign Energy Services Inc ESVIF reported a strong rise in its third-quarter net profit.
Ensign Energy's quarterly net income climbed to C$64 million ($62.9 million), or 42 Canadian cents per share, from C$32.3 million, or 21 Canadian cents per share, in the year-earlier period. On an adjusted basis, Ensign Energy's earnings came in at 34 Canadian cents per share.
Ensign Energy's revenue surged 39% to C$475.7 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of 30 Canadian cents per share on revenue of C$465.1 million.
Ensign Energy shares closed at $15.23 on Friday.
