Severn Trent Posts Rise In Profit, Lifts Dividend

Severn Trent PLC STRNY reported an increase in its pretax profit and lifted its interim dividend by 6%. Severn Trent announced a dividend of 32.16 pence (52.38 cents), versus 30.34 pence. Its pretax profit climbed to GBP191.2 million from GBP113.4 million, while revenue rose 0.5% to GBP922.4 million. Severn Trent shares closed at $29.36 yesterday.
