Microvision Pops On Speculation Its Projector To Be Used In New iPod (MVIS, AAPL)

There is a rumor that Microvision's MVIS Pico Projector may be included in a new iPod model from Apple AAPL. The rumor comes from channel checks in Taiwan, but the source remains anonymous. Shares of Microvision are currently trading 11.06% higher on the speculation. Volume has been heavy in the name with around 2 million shares trading hands versus a daily average of 433,000. Microvision, Inc. develops miniature display and imaging engines based upon its PicoP display engine platform. The company’s technology platform utilizes two dimensional Micro-Electrical Mechanical Systems (MEMS), lasers, optics, and electronics to create video or still image from a small form factor device.
